"Fahu Goes East"

Kauila Kanaka'ole Chen Dance Center

In celebration of Asian/Pacific-American Heritage Month, Chen Dance Center has commissioned "Fahu Goes East," a one-man dance/theater work by Kauila Kanaka'ole of Hilo, Hawaii.  Kauila is a member of a legendary Hawaiian family of hula and chant practitioners.   Through dance, story, unapologetic truths, and irreverent humor, his "Fahu Goes East" is a tale of family, fashion and a search for freedom.  Commissioned in celebration of Asian/Pacific-American Heritage Month.  Discussions will be held after both performances.
