Forza Dance Emerging Artist Festival

Forza Dance Emerging Artist Festival PJ Barron

Hello Forza friend!

Are you an emerging choreographer itching to share a new work? Looking to hone in on your choreographic journey? Craving a chance to cultivate your own masterclass and processes?

We leveled up and want to bring YOU with us! After three sold out Emerging Artist Showcases, we are looking forward to hosting more emerging artists and companies than ever before  in our first Emerging Artist Festival Dec 2nd & 3rd 2023! Saturday will consist of classes and workshops by master and emerging choreographers, networking, and researching together from 10am-5pm and Sunday we will rehearse then perform starting at 1pm! There will be two shows program A and B! If you are selected you will perform in one of the two shows at 5 or 7pm. You will also have the opportunity to apply to teach during the festival to share your choreographic process and repertoire with the public and hone your facilitating skills.

Dates: December 2 (Classes) & December 3 (Tech and Performance)

Location: The Tank (312 W 36th St., New York, NY 10018)

Who should apply: Individuals ages 18-35 of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Choreographers will have the chance to choose if they are interested in hosting their own masterclass!

What kind of work: Live movement works 5-10min in length. The space is 21x16. Works with more than 5 people would be difficult to space.

Why EAF?

Tech and Performance of your piece at The Tank’s 98 seat theater.
Four classes sharing choreographic processes and movement discoveries with established and emerging choreographers.
Introduction and networking with the Forza community and the public. Engagement through a full day of classes open to all NYC dancers and performances open to the public.
Marketing and PR of your piece by Forza.
Written feedback by fellow artists and audience!

The Emerging Artist Festival is a direct response to feedback over our past 3 Emerging Artist Showcases. We have listened to feedback, which included artists needing more opportunities to learn about choreography, more opportunities to share choreography, and more opportunities to connect with each other in a workshop setting.

Apply by 11:59pm Tuesday October 24th.
