A new, rewritten production of the 1930s lesbian love story featuring live tap dance is hitting the intimate Stage Left Studio January 13-March 10, 2015.

Can the love of two women survive the black-white divide? In 1939 London, male impersonator Miss Jimmie LeRoy (tap dancer) and pianist Claire Hicks have lived, loved, and performed together for 3 years. The gathering storm of war and a letter from home plummet them into the harsh reality of returning to a segregated U.S. As they pack to leave, the specters of exile and hatred make the very dream of their love seem impossible.

"A well-constructed blend of courage, love, rebellion and self-preservation"

"The performances are . . . excellent" "the beautiful speech at the end . . . was flawless"

Not recommended for children. Partial nudity and sexual material.
