Triskelion Arts is pleased to present the world premiere of Jessica Gaynor Dance’s latest work, Free Fall, at the Aldous Theater on November 14-16 at 8pm, with an additional matinee on November 15 at 3pm. Hailed for its “risk-laden” (DIY Dancer) choreography and “sophisticated approach to pure-dance,” (The New Yorker), Jessica Gaynor Dance performs pieces that utilize kinetic physicality, intricate patterning, and formal structures in an exploration of the complexities of human experience. Pieces are constructed around core themes such as space, time and energy, and include an interplay between explosive athleticism and rich design.

Jessica Gaynor Dance premieres Free Fall, an evening-length piece based on force as it applies to physicality, momentum, bodies in space, and contact interactions. Themes explored include dynamic equilibrium, centripetal force, gravity, thrust, torque, drag, and friction. Accompanying the dance will be music by Quentin Tolimieri, performed live. Lighting design is by Andrew Dickerson. Performing the work will be dancers Rachel Abrahams, Emily Diers, Kyle Gerry, Julia Sabangan, Kristi Tornga, and Matthew Westerby.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, as well as through Triskelion Arts’ Space Subsidy Program made possible with support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
