Kathak is a classical dance form from North India dating back to 1250 B.C. Kathak dance has been uniquely enriched throughout its history by Persian influence as well as by the patronage of Mughal kings. It is characterized by fast spinning movements and elegant poses. Students from the East-West School of Dance will showcase a variety of traditional kathak dances just in time to start off Diwali celebrations.
