Kofago Dance Ensemble Unveils the 6th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration with the Theme "ELEVATE"

Kofago Dance Ensemble is delighted to announce the theme for our 6th Anniversary Kwanzaa Celebration - "ELEVATE". This theme not only represents the ascent of this much-celebrated event over six years but also commemorates the Kofago Dance Ensemble's own 5th anniversary. In partnership with Rhythm N Dance Incorporated, the Kofago School of Dance and Culture, and Queensborough Community College, we invite the community to experience the upliftment of our rich cultural heritage through dance and artistic expression on December 3rd and December 10th, 2023.

"ELEVATE" captures the essence of our journey and growth, symbolizing both the literal and figurative rise of our performances and outreach. As we convene to celebrate the traditions and principles of Kwanzaa, we also reflect on our own evolution and the ways we have risen to bring impactful performances to our community year after year.

Show Details:

Date: Sunday, December 3rd, and Sunday, December 10th, 2023

Show One (Youth Showcase): The matinee performances will "ELEVATE" the voices and talents of youth performing arts groups from all around New York City, shining a light on the future of our artistic community.

Show Two (Full Length Show): The evening shows will be a testament to our theme, showcasing the full-length performance by the celebrated Kofago Dance Ensemble, the Queensborough Community College Dance Program, and special guests who exemplify our communal rise in the arts.

This year's celebration is a reflection of our collective achievements and our constant endeavor to reach greater heights - a fitting tribute to the principle of Kuumba (Creativity) as we strive to do as much as we can to leave our communities more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited them.
