LEIMAY will be presenting an installation piece and performance commissioned by the New York Restoration Project at the Heckscher Foundation Children’s Garden in Williamsburg Brooklyn . The nonprofit group, created by Bette Midler in 1995, collaborates with the Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Bronx Museum of the Arts and the Morris-Jumel Mansion on the Divine Arts Series.
The NYRP, believes that building community starts outdoors! Each season, they collaborate with local partners to offer a variety of free activities for people of all ages in green spaces all over New York City. LEIMAY supports and share NYPR believe and is honored to be part of this program for the third consecutive year.
Performances – Sept 8, 10, 17, 7.30pm: LEIMAY brings together company dancers, local artists and members of LEIMAY’s community class in a new piece inspired by supernatural tales, parallel universes, and the magic hidden beneath the ordinary. Performances are free.
Installation – on view Aug 29 – Sept 18: The art installation traces the garden grounds with dozens of strings using tension and suspension to stimulate your personal sense of perception.
