MorDance 5th Anniversary Season

MorDance performing at Aaron Davis Hall Kelsey Campbell

MorDance, in its mission to create modern, relevant movement that maintains the integrity of classical ballet, celebrates their fifth milestone year this April at Aaron Davis Hall, April 27-28. Hailed by the New York Times as a “crisp” and “clean” dance maker with “an eye for shaping the arc of a dance as carefully as the transitions and details within it,” Morgan McEwen will premiere two new works on her ensemble of eight, and resurrect a work from their inaugural season. From her diverse group moving in and out of shadows, suspended by raised structures in Arvo Pärt’s Stabat Mater, inspired by a 13th century hymn at the time of Christ’s crucifixion to the exploration of relationships among us in Depth’s Entangled, the evening will present a full scope of technical and artistic storytelling and celebration of movement in it’s purest sense. The company will also honor the centennial celebration of the great Leonard Bernstein with a new work to the chilling score On The Waterfront Symphonic Suite.

MorDance's 5th Anniversary Season is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Engagement/Creative Learning, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. LMCC.net
