April 17-28

MWF 10am-12pm

MR@Eden's Expressway

We will use both improvisational scores and simple set exercises to find awareness, connection, and articulation in our movement. We will learn a phrase and mess with it, by aiming at it and failing at it, following the failure and expanding the success, and by responsive/immersive watching of others dancing it.

Anna Azrieli is a Soviet born, NYC bred, choreographer, performer, and teacher. Her work has been presented by Gibney Dance, Danspace Project, The Kitchen, Roulette, Elastic City, Dixon Place, Catch, AUNTS, and Movement Research at the Judson Church. She was a 2010 Movement Research Artist-in-Residence. She performed with Miguel Gutierrez 2001-2011, Heather Kravas, robbinschilds, David Thomson, Clarinda Mac Low, luciana achugar, Sam Kim, Donna Uchizono, Wendy Perron, Fred Darsow, and Lynn Marie Ruse/Freefall. She has made work collaboratively with Marya Wethers, Pascale Wettstein, and Abby Crain/Samuael Topiary. She has been in video work of David Bowie, Yanira Castro and Maya Ciarrocchi.
