Thinking bodies. This practice attunes our physical awareness to embed mindfulness within highly physical dancing. Jointly investigating the dialogue between physical and intellectual information, manifesting through our unique dancing bodies, we’ll use set and improvised movements to explore experiential and somatic strategies, sequential movement, initiations, release, flow, falling, momentum, ease and efficiency. Moving with simultaneous abandonment and precision, we’ll continually make space for our individual approaches to moving.

Lindsey Dietz Marchant has been based in NYC since 1998. Lindsey is active in the field of contemporary performance as a performer, choreographer, teacher, curator, producer, administrator, and advocate for contemporary performing arts and artists. As a freelance dance artist, Lindsey has performed with over 35 different choreographers and companies working extensively as a collaborating artist with Pavel Zustiak, creating and performing work with Palissimo Company since 2008. From 2012-2016 Lindsey performed in Third Rail Project’s “Bessie" Award winning immersive dance theater piece Then She Fell and from 2010-2016 Lindsey performed with Martha Clarke. Additional performance work with Aszure Barton, Monica Bill Barnes, Elena Demyanenko, Ursula Eagly, Doug Elkins, Brandin Steffinson, Tami Stronach Dance, and Kate Weare Co., among others. Lindsey had the honor of performing in one of David Bowie’s final videos, Dark Star. Lindsey's choreographic work has been presented around the world from Australia to Russia with NYC commissions from Danspace Project, Dance Theater Workshop, Harkness Dance Center, Music Theater Group, among others. Lindsey has set repertory and taught extensively at universities and conservatories such as Bennington College, NYU-Tisch School of the Arts, Princeton University, Marymount Manhattan College, Oakland University, University of Iowa, University of Michigan, SUNY Purchase, University of New South Wales (Australia), Movement Research (NYC), Dance New Amsterdam (NYC), and Chunky Move (Australia). Lindsey curates and produces performance and has worked for numerous non-profit dance organizations in NYC. Lindsey is currently Creative Producer for Michelle Boulè, Joanna Kotze, Netta Yerushalamy, Pavel Zustiak, and Managing Director at Movement Research.

Lindsey is committed to the process of collaboration, and the integration of improvisational forms and directed movement. Her movement investigations look to dance and performance as a method for discourse around collaborative relationships: on a personal level – a body’s relationship between thought and movement via our "physical intuition" and "body intelligence", on a local level – engagement between performers and audiences, and on a global scale – as a human being collaborating within the world.
