Morning Class with Molly Lieber

This class aims to provide a peaceful setting to work on movement together. We'll go into feeling and energetic specificity each morning through connections that require gentle focus and renewal. Material will be offered as a base on which to practice poetics and physics without relation to a performative outcome.

Molly Lieber is a freelance dancer living in Queens. She and Eleanor Smith have made work together since 2006. She performed recently in works by luciana achugar (True Love (2015), OTRO TEATRO (2014), Wally Cardona and Jennifer Lacey, Keely Garfield, Neil Greenberg (This, 2014), Maria Hassabi (PLASTIC, 2015), Melinda Ring Forgetful Snow (2014), X (2010), and Donna Uchizono. She was nominated for a 2016 New York Performance and Dance "Bessie" award for her body of work and featured in Dance Magazine's March 2016 cover article on New York freelance dancers. Her works with Eleanor Smith premiered at PS122, Roulette, and The Chocolate Factory Theater, and they were nominated for a 2013 New York Dance and Performance "Bessie" Award for Emerging Choreographer. Prior to dancing Molly taught special education at P371K in Brooklyn.
