NDI Event of the Year - THIS LAND IS OUR LAND: THE POWER OF AMERICAN SONG

This Land is Our Land brings together 200 talented dancers from New York City public schools in a spectacular celebration of American Roots Music, from Spiritual to Blue Grass to Rock and Roll. Directed by Ellen Weinstein, the Signature Event of the Year will take audience members on a musical and choreographic journey through our country’s history, giving voice to the spirit of freedom, justice and community that define our nation and its people.

National Dance Institute (NDI), the non-profit organization that has transformed the lives of millions of public school children through the arts, will hold its 2015 signature Event of the Year, This Land is Our Land: The Power of American Song.  The performances will feature music and dance celebrating the people, events and traditions that make up America’s culture.

NDI was founded by the legendary New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d’Amboise in the belief that the arts have a unique power to engage children and motivate them towards excellence.  NDI’s programs reach over 6,000 children each week in 42 New York City public schools.
