Odissi Beginner/Intermediate Workshop

Experience the traditional elements of the Dev Prasad Das School of Odissi dance. This workshop is open to everyone. In the first half hour students will work on the basic movements of Odissi dance. In the last hour students will work on a Nritta (a small pure dance piece).  In this workshop, students will learn basic steps, torso movements, Arasas (rhythmic foot patterns), Bhanghis (sculptural poses), Sira, Griva, and Dristi Bhedas (head, neck, and eye movements), and  Hasta Mudras (hand gestures).
