GEMINI STARS is created and developed by Pioneers Go East Collective – a collective of writers, performers and musicians who create performance with new media to explore stories of social-political relevance, drawing from historical and contemporary realities of queer identity and otherness to create thought-provoking impressions. Written and directed by Gian Marco Lo Forte, with co-writers Julia Dobner-Pereira and Daniel Diaz. This new work is inspired by LGBTQ vloggers coming out (and talking) on youtube juxtaposed to gay bashing…a funny and sour performance reflecting on what the community has achieved (or not) using social media. The stories are devised, performed and choreographed by John Guitierrez, Brittane Rowe, Chloe Piazza, Julia Dobner-Pereira, Anthony Napoletano, Jose Rivera, Daniel Diaz, Ryan Leach. Original songs by Anthony Napoletano.

The Exponential Festival, a multi-week festival that seeks to promote theatrical performances created in New York and presented across Brooklyn, is proud to announce its second year of artists and venues. Performances will take place January 4-31 in partnership with The Bushwick Starr, The Brick, Chez Bushwick, CPR - Center for Performance Research, The Glove, JACK, Triskelion Arts, and Vital Joint. The Exponential Festival celebrates the increasing growth and importance of Brooklyn venues and local artists, working together to keep theatre kicking.
