Refuge

Scene from Refuge

Amanda Selwyn and her company Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre/Notes in Motion bring the world premiere of Refuge, Selwyn’s latest choreographic work, to the Mark Morris Dance Center.  Inspired by Francesco Clemente’s art installation Encampment, Refuge is a moving collage and explores our relationship to our surroundings. Throughout the evening-length work, five principal and 10 ensemble dancers step through a changing landscape that constantly shifts and as a result disrupts our sense of identity and purpose.
