SUMAC 2014 Summer Intensive Workshop

SUMAC 2014 Summer Intensive Workshop

Susan Marshall & Company’s Systems for Understanding Movement & Choreography (SUMAC) is a six-day intensive workshop supporting dancers and choreographers in choreographic collaboration.

Hosted by Barnard College, NYC, the purpose of this workshop is to empower dancers and choreographers with the time, space, support, and encouragement needed to work in ways which are new to them and that diverge from the traditional, non-collaborative model of the choreographer/dancer relationship.

Under Marshall’s mentorship, participants will:
Investigate choreographic process and performance skills.
Develop creative tools and practice based on Susan Marshall & Company’s collaborative process.
Create work with dancers and choreographers from NYC and across the globe.
Play, learn, experiment and share in a supportive environment.

Faculty includes Susan Marshall and company members Kristen Hollinsworth, Luke Miller, Darrin Wright, and Kristin Clotfelter
