Stray Bird

New Chamber Ballet

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet joins forces with the Momenta String Quartet and guest musicians for "Stray Bird," a tribute to composer Ursula Mamlok.   Born in Berlin to a Jewish family, Mamlok fled from the Nazis, first to Ecuador; then to New York; finally returning to Berlin where she passed away last year at age 93.   Choreography is by Magloire and the team of Rebecca Walden and Mara Driscoll, from the North Carolina School of the Arts. The live music will be performed by the Momenta String Quartet joined by flute, clarinet, guitar, and a soprano.   Admission is free, but reservations are required.
