SummerStage Dance presents A Conversation with Kyle Abraham hosted by Eva Yaa Asantewaa

Eva Yaa Asantewaa

A New York native of Black Caribbean descent, Eva Yaa Asantewaa is a Bessie-award winning dance critic, writer, and educator. Since 1976, she has contributed to Dance Magazine, The Village Voice, Soho Weekly News, Gay City News, and others. She has interviewed dance artists and advocates as host of two podcasts, Body and Soul, and Serious Moonlight. She also blogs on the arts, with dance as a specialty, for InfiniteBody. Over the years, she has curated and facilitated many “Long Table” conversations on topics of concern in the dance/performance community. Most recently,  Gibney, the New York-based performing arts and social justice nonprofit, appointed Yaa Asantewaa to the newly created position of curatorial director.  For this “conversation”, she will give the audience a glimpse into the mind and thought process of acclaimed dancer and choreographer, Kyle Abraham.
