About the Work:
Mary Suk
"Life on the Hyphen" is based on a series of personal essays about growing up as a child of Korean immigrants in rural Pennsylvania during the 1970s and 80s. A humorous and sometimes heartbreaking exploration of what it means to be Asian and American, the story is told through text, movement, and an attempt at learning to do Jultagi (줄타기), traditional Korean performance of tightrope-walking while storytelling.

Ensemble InterTwining presents "Evelyn/Evelyn" (eh-velyn/ee-velyn) a new dance-opera by creators/performers Darla Stanley and Azalea, Mac and Toby Twining, libretto by Konstantin Kulakov. Tracing the transformation of an individual person through four different bodies and times, the opera wrestles with the integration of internal and external experience in the crucible of gender fluidity and evolving selfhood.

Please note: Masks are required indoors for all visitors, regardless of vaccination status.
