~~Yuka Notsuka

Tapping into the creative energy of the universe through Kinetic Spiral. Nai-Ni Chen's signature technique is based on the principle of ever-changing universal forces of Yin and Yang. Nai-Ni Chen has been hailed as a Spiritual Choreographer by Dance Magazine and recipient of multiple choreographic fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Yuka Notsuka was born in Fukuoka, Japan, and later moved to New York City to further pursue her career as a dancer. She performed in Ailey Spirit Gala Concert at Lincoln Center choreographed by Tracy Inman (Co-Director, The Ailey School) and Robert Battle (Artistic director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater). Yuka then joined the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company in 2017.

~Chinese Martial Art
~~Yuan Zhang

Wushu is a form of contemporary Chinese martial arts that blends elements of performance and martial application. Wushu training emphasizes: quickness, explosive power, and natural, relaxed movement. The wushu practitioner must combine flexibility with strength, speed with flawless technique, fierce intent with effortless execution. Master Yuan Zhang is a national and international Wushu champion, teacher and coach of national and international Wushu and Tai chi competitions. His students are in Hollywood movies and law enforcement.

~~Greta Campo

Tapping into the creative energy of the universe through Kinetic Spiral. Dance phrases from Nai-Ni Chen's repertory will be taught by Greta Campo, the Associate Artistic Director of the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company. She began her dance training in her native Milan at the Carcano Theater, where she was first introduced to Martha Graham’s work. They also performed with the Martha Graham Dance Company in their 2012 New York Season and later on their international tour.

~Flamenco:
Rhythm & Movement
~~Juana Cala

The class will begin with several brief facts about the origin of Flamenco and then proceed to: Flamenco posture, Warmup; Flamenco arm work (Braceo); Flamenco footwork (Taconeo); and Flamenco rhythm (Compas), culminating in a choreographic sequence. Juana Cala, Flamenco dancer and choreographer, has been performing and teaching Flamenco in the United States and Europe for more than 20 years. She performed as a soloist in the María Benitez Dance Company under the direction of Mario Maya, and then went on to form her own company, “Ensemble Flamenco Juana Cala," touring some of Europe’s most prestigious theatres for 16 years. In 1999, Juana was a professor of Flamenco in a Professional Arts Program for the European Union. She has been a resident Spanish Dance Artist in various universities across the United States and a teaching artist for Flamenco Vivo for 10 years in NYC.
