The Message

Portraits of 4 artists doing hand gestures washed in colors yellow, blue, purple and green. Various

BLACKBIRD DANCE COMPANY, a contemporary Flamenco and Spanish Dance group led by multidisciplinary performing artist and movement therapist Aliesha Bryan (she/her), presents its inaugural program of work on May 20 and 21, 2024 at 6:30 and 8:30 pm. "The Message" is a meditation in movement on the human experience of living under the specter of climate change. Through poetry, improvised and choreographed movement and the organic relationship between song and dance, the work conveys stages of insouciance, recognition, paralysis and the weight of consequence. Performed by Aliesha Bryan, Olyda Espinal, Yasmina Yuexi and Georgia Dahill-Fuchel. @blackbirddances
