The Palos Series

The Palos Series Adrienne Gemmis

The Center for Flamenco Arts is excited to introduce The Palos Series, a workshop exploring the complexities of flamenco dance, music and song. Intended for both flamencos and aficionados, the Palos series will examine the relationship between the dance and music in each of flamenco’s classic palos (rhythms), and the variations within each.

The first session in each series will focus on learning the lyrics and musical theory of a rhythm. Subsequent classes will focus on choreography and how these elements work together, deepening an understanding of the relationship between the two. As part of our partnership with Flamenco Latino, this series will culminate in an optional student performance at their studios December 5, 2014.  Join us for a theory session (no experience necessary) or for the entire series!
