The Trifecta Youth Companies of Chicago, IL is honored to present "The Power of Beauty."

There is an unspoken dichotomy in our society. While we are surrounded by an overwhelming amount of beauty—from
which one can draw inspiration and  experience an emotional shift in perspective—oftentimes this beauty is overshadowed by destruction, social injustice, and the misuse of power. A dark shadow is cast over the beauty.

The idea that beauty can be powerful is an untapped resource. When we see social injustice, we can combat it with the beauty by which we are surrounded.

The Trifecta Youth Company chooses to fight back with the beauty of movement. They hope to inspire their audiences to take action and fight to establish an equilibriums in their worlds and platforms for more individuals to harness their own inner powers. The ripple effect will create a wave of compassion that will fill our communities with love and knowledge.

About the Company
The Trifecta Youth Company is the youth sector of the professional dance company Trifecta Dance Collective, whose mision is to enrich the Chicagoland area community experience through the arts.

The Trifecta Youth company is comised of a select group of performers who train 10­-15 hours a week at the Dance and Music Academy. Throughout the company's 12 years, members have received numerous awards and accolades and have been selected to perform as soloists in the Ultimate Dance National Company and to partake in prestigious showcases, including: Dance Chicago’s Future Stars, Choreography Showcase, and Dances From the Heart, Ovation TV’s “A Chance To Dance” finalist, Noumenon Dance Company’s Choreography Showcase, and Jennifer Mueller’s “Hatch” Series in New York City.

About the Choreographer
Krissie Odegard Geye graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and was “Tapadictorian” at the American Tap Dance Institute (ATDI). She has been on staff for Goliard Concerts in New York City and The Ethnic Dance Theatre in St. Paul, MN, as well as, a clinician at the ATDI “Spirit of Tap” Conference and a faculty member for the New York City Public School system. This will be her third year as the Director of the National "Heart and Soul" Dance Company. She is also the proud Owner and Artistic Director of the Dance and Music Academy in Chicago.
