Triskelion Arts is pleased to present Dishman + Co. Choreography as they usher in their 15th season with an ambitious new work, Vermilion. Referencing the brilliant red pigment seen in stop signs and exit signs, red carpets, bing cherries, cardinals, lipstick and blood, Vermilion corkscrews down through meshed experiential layers using subtly shifting physicalities, risky improvisations, and tightly choreographed scenarios in pursuit of a deeply visceral embodiment. Intimate yet sweeping, the piece ponders connection and isolation in an homage to contemporary culture, which is both cohesive and brittle, and revels in the mysterious-familiar through the body in all its miraculous everyday. Vermilion is choreographed by Elizabeth Dishman, in collaboration with the performers: Myssi Robinson, Julie Seal, Lynda Senisi, and Anthony Shevlin. The lush and quirky score is composed and arranged by Jeremy McDonald, and performed by himself (upright bass), Christopher McDonald (pump organ), Kristin Slipp (vocals), and Alec Spiegelman (woodwinds).

Dishman + Co. Choreography is joined by guest artists Brian McGinnis and Jennifer Sydor, who will be presenting Weatherone. Performed and choreographed by McGinnis and Sydor with a musical score by Daniel Fabricatore, this work is an exploration of the limitless power of shifting natural forces. Ultimately, we must surrender as transcendence beckons us forth.
