Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition

Valentina Kozlova, former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet,  announces the 5th annual International Ballet Competition, May 26-30 at Symphony Space.    180 classical and contemporary dancers from 22 countries around the world, from Russia to Paraguay, will gather in New York to dance before an international panel of judges led by renowned Andris Liepa, former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and guest with ABT and NYCB.  The roster of 28 international judges includes Frank Andersen, Nina Ananiashvili, and Lawrence Rhodes.   Prizes include contracts to companies in the U.S., Romania, and Argentina, as well as scholarships to schools in Paris, Munich, Toronto, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Boston, and more.  Categories are Youth (ages 11&12), Students (ages 13&14), Juniors (ages 15-17), and Seniors (ages 18-26).  The Rounds will be held May 26, 27 & 28; Finals are May 29th; Awards Ceremony at 6 PM and Gala Performance at 7 PM on May 30th.
