"You could talk all day about the pressures that come with being a modern woman and not say it half as well as Charlotte Bydwell shows and tells it in forty-five minutes."— NYTheatre.com

A whimsical combination of dance and theater, Woman of Leisure and Panic depicts a young artist’s quest to find balance in a life where every achievement seems to bring further uncertainty. While navigating the complexities of contemporary womanhood, she struggles to remain financially stable, creatively productive, physically fit, romantically satisfied, reasonably on schedule and still standing....or should she sit?

The show—written, choreographed, and performed by Charlotte Bydwell—premiered in the 8th Annual soloNOVA Festival (New York Innovative Theatre Award Nomination for Outstanding Performance Art Production) and later enjoyed an acclaimed run in the New York International Fringe Festival. Now returning to Anita’s Way for a series of performances, the Woman of Leisure and Panic will have a chance to exist right in the middle of her natural habitat surrounded by the lights and banners of Broadway.

Whether you are a New Yorker all too familiar with a quest for glory (that feels more like a tale of endless woe) or a visitor eager to see what it’s really like to “live the dream,” this honest and witty exposé is not to be missed.
