Young Dancemakers Company

Young Dancemakers Company Sam Polcer

Young Dancemakers Company is a unique summer ensemble of NYC teens, chosen through auditions in public high schools, to create and perform their original choreography in a series of free performances in Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens.  The youngsters create their topical, bold, and witty works under the experienced eyes of founder and Bessie-award winner Alice Teirstein and musician William Catanzaro.   In addition to their original works, the dancers will also appear in an excerpt of Jose Limon's "A Choreographic Offering," taught by Limon Company principal dancer Kristen Foote.  Locations: July 26, Fieldston School in the Bronx; July 27, Riverside Theater in Manhattan; July 28, 92nd St. Y in Manhattan; July 29, Socrates Sculpture Park in LIC; August 1 at Kumble Theater in Brooklyn; August 2 at Symphony Space in Manhattan; August 3 at University Settlement in Manhattan; August 5 at Ailey Citigroup Theater in Manhattan.  For more details, please visit the website: www.youngdancemakerscompany.org
