konverjdans Studio Showing

May 30, 2017: konverjdans Studio Showing hosted by co-artistic directors Tiffany Mangulabnan, Jordan Miller and Amy Saunder Arnaud Falchier

konverjdans, a contemporary ballet company committed to creating and presenting dance in collaboration with musicians and visual artists, is showcasing new work, with live musical performances, on May 30, 2017. Hosted by co-artistic directors Tiffany Mangulabnan, Jordan Miller and Amy Saunder, konverjdans's studio showing will take place at the Mark Morris Dance Center, with an outdoor wine-and-beer reception on the 4th-floor terrace at 7:30pm.

The evening will feature work and excerpts of works-in-progress from the konverjdans directors (set to original music), as well as a new piece by BalletX dancer Caili Quan (set to solo guitar arrangements of Ernesto Nazareth's music). The pieces will feature live musical performances by classical guitarist Julia Egan, singer/songwriter Megg Farrell, and percussionist/composer Max Kanowitz. Joining us also for the showing is dancer Charles McCall, formerly of Pacific Northwest Ballet and Royal New Zealand Ballet. We are so thrilled to have all of these artists with us!

'STRATA', created in collaboration with Kanowitz and visual artist Nancy Baker, will be performed again for the first time since its premiere at Norte Maar's CounterPointe5 at The Actors Fund Arts Center in Brooklyn last month. Don't miss it!
