Department of Cultural Affairs Announces Community Arts Leadership

Dear Colleague:

The Department of Cultural Affairs is pleased to announce the second iteration of Community Arts Leadership, managed by the Community Arts Development Program (CADP).  Community Arts Leadership is a yearlong capacity-building initiative designed to help arts leaders effectively run their small, community-based cultural organizations.

The program  engages participants through interactive workshops, one-on-one technical assistance, and presentations from the field. The twelve-month  curriculum focuses on three core capacity areas: board development, strategic planning, and financial management.  Additional presentations and panels will address some of the critical challenges and prospects facing nonprofit cultural leaders.

Community Arts Leadership classes will run from September 2014 through June 2015, with additional one-on-one assistance taking place through September 2015. Participation is free for all selected groups.
