Join CultureAID

For many of us, October 29 serves as a reminder of how vulnerable we can be when confronted by natural forces.  Two years ago today, when Hurricane Sandy hit New York City, many of us found ourselves scrambling to protect our families and homes, as well as our studios, theaters, and irreplaceable works of art.  But through our concerted efforts to share resources and provide financial and emotional support to one another, we also saw an underlying strength and resiliency in the people and organizations in the cultural field.

CultureAID was established to keep that momentum going; to keep our arts and cultural communities better connected in time of disaster – whether natural or manmade.  The network is a volunteer-based communication system, designed to systematize messages about preparedness as well as recovery-related information and resources.

CultureAID is only as strong as the network is wide, and we invite you now to join.

Joining is FREE and open to any arts organization with a constituency, including nonprofits, fiscally-sponsored groups, and informal entities.
