Join the City Hall Rally on May 21!

There is a proposed $6 MILLION cut to the cultural budget. Join New Yorkers for Culture & Arts and Dance/NYC at 10:00 a.m. on May 21, 2019 for the City Hall Rally. Meet on the steps of City Hall (250 Broadway) to show your support to maintain the $20 million increase to the budget for culture and arts (the same as last year) and say NO to any cuts to the baseline budget! It will be tremendous to see you there, and please share far and wide to your communities. Together, we will advocate for sustainable funding for culture and arts throughout New York City.

You can further demonstrate your support of culture and arts by adding your voice across social media platforms. Use the hashtags #NoCutsToCulture and #NYCInspires or contact your council member directly and tell them why culture is important to you and that you support NO CUTS TO CULTURE in the 2020 budget.

Why Your Support Matters
•  A large turn out to City Hall shows our council members that we stand in solidarity with culture and arts organizations across New York City!
•  It is an opportunity to build a network by connecting with old friends and new across the boroughs.
•  The current budget proposes a huge cut to culture funding. This will affect hundreds of institutions and individuals in New York City. Join us in advocating #NoCutsToCulture

New Yorkers for Culture & Arts (ny4ca.org) supports strengthening policy, increasing and securing sustainable public funding, advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion to help ensure a vibrant future for culture and arts throughout New York City.
