NYC Dance Focus Group on Dancer Healthcare
This event has already occurred. Please enjoy event information below.
When: Tuesday, July 10, 2012, 2:00-3:30 p.m.
Where: The William F. Ryan Community Health Center, 110 West 97th Street (between Columbus & Amsterdam Avenues), New York, NY
Calling those in NYC dance who need healthcare! As we seek strategies to get all dance artists healthcare, our opportunity is to engage service organizations and dance artists, potential users, in discussion with the William F. Ryan Community Health Network about the dance community's healthcare needs and ways to make the Network's services accessible to NYC dance. Charles Reinhart has initiated discussion with the Network, which is eager to find effective ways to help. The Network offers Primary Care, routine Dental, Mental Health, and OB/GYN, as well as various specialty services (by site). The discussion on July 10 will focus on creating a custom patient registration process for dance artists.
There is potential here for adding to the current list of local healthcare providers working to meet the financial and wellness needs of dance artists, from New York City’s Health and Hospitals Corporation to the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries and the Actor’s Fund’s Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic.
