:pushing progress Showcase Series Choreographer's Call
The Showcase Series celebrates the talents of emerging artists in the New York City dance community and diversity in dance. It is about raw artistry and the process of creation; sharing with others the way in which each individual artist creates and moves differently. Each performance is a unique palette of movement vocabulary and ideas. Past performances include choreographers such as Mark Stuart Dance Theater, Slam, Jason Parsons, BODYART, Lauren Adams, Dana Foglia, Next Stage Dance Project, Heather Gehring,Cirque-tacular, Synthesis Dance Project, and :pushing progress directors Calen Kurka, Chris Hale, and Maya Escueta.
Artists are picked to present 7 minutes of their work on this prestigious stage both by invitation and through application submissions. To submit an application, please follow the link below and fill out the application form to be submitted NO LATER THAN MARCH 19. The Showcase Series will happen this year on Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd at 7:00pm. Can't wait to see everyone's work and the best of luck to all!
