Paid Summer Internship

 
Soul Arts Academy (Sweet Soul Movement) is a Downtown performing arts school seeking charismatic, driven and responsible interns and apprentices for its performance-oriented 2011 Summer Arts Workshops commencing Jun 27th. Hailed as “Downtown’s most creative new day camp for kids,” SAA’s summer workshops features instruction in dance, drama, art, music, swimming and outdoor sports over the course of 8 weeks, run by NYC artists and professional teachers.

Paid Summer Interns

Interns will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with some of New York's finest performer-educators, gain an intimate, firsthand experience of running a downtown dance studio as well as participate in performances by visiting artists. Duties include assisting staff in managing and leading children, assisting in camp activities/games, light administrative and manpower duties, marketing, publicity, and managing social media. Applicants applying MUST be available for a minimum of 2 Sessions. When applying, please indicate which Sessions you are available for.

Applicants must:
- Love working with children
- Be resourceful, creative, open-minded and able to work in an unpredictable fast-paced environment
- Have a passion for the performing arts, arts management or arts education
- Be able to FULLY commit to the respective Session(s) required.

Mon - Fri, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Session 1: Jun 27-Jul 8
Session 2: Jul 11-Jul 22
Session 3: Jul 25-Aug 5   
Session 4: Aug 8-Aug 19
