Auditions for Grounded Aerial

 

Karen A. Fuhrman  (Momix, Pilobolus, De La Guarda, and creator of Insectinside), Artistic Director and Owner of Grounded Aerial, combines aerial spectacle with modern dance and immersive storytelling.

 

Grounded Aerial has appeared at Yerba Buena’s Art Festival (San Francisco), Microsoft's worldwide Vista and Office Logo launch, Limelight Night Club (NYC), Company y Company (Barcelona, Spain), Bidvest International Awards Ceremony (Johannesburg, South Africa), Skirball Theater (NYC opening for Neil Diamond), Baila! (National Palace in Guatemala City), Spiderman II Release Party, Philly Fringe, environmental benefits in Lake Tahoe, Usher’s NYC Gala, Madeski, Martin, and Wood Concert (Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC), Kimmel Center (Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts) as well as numerous other venues. Most recently Ms. Fuhrman premiered “Insectinside” (an aerial play) in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

 

We are looking for trained male and female dancers/actors/aerialiststhat are excited to learn Grounded’s (mainly harness-based) repertoire and create new pieces.  A gymnastic background is helpful, but not required.  Rehearsals will be once or twice a week, and are unpaid. Daring, committed, and resilient dancers who are comfortable with intensive improvisation, aerial rigor, character development, and collaboration will be selected for paid performances in NY and potentially around the world.

Callbacks: Monday Aug. 29th  8:30 to 10pm
