Company Profile: Sidra Bell Dance New York (SBDNY Inc.), a nonprofit 501c3,is a New York City based contemporary dance theater company presenting innovative, provocative and kinetic dance theater works. Bell is a sought after voice in contemporary dance with a strong female vision creating work that ignites the imagination and explores the complexities of the human condition. The company's repertoire features pieces that are simultaneously haunting, emotionally transporting, complex, dynamic, articulate, sensual and highly physical. The company has become known for unconventional, forward-looking works that push past traditional vocabulary, venues, and boundaries. The vocabulary is risky, elegant, fantastical, and darkly romantic with original themes and larger than life characters.
