Sublime Dance Company is seeking contemporary male and female dancers.

This is a new project that SDC is starting in October. It will involve a relatively large group of dancers, lots of improvisation and contact improv, and a collaboration with a filmmaker, insofar as the dance material that is going to be generated is thought to also serve as the content of a film about dance, for dance, dance-like, filled w/ dance, u get the idea...;)...
So by the end of the process (this to be determined/affected by a natural progression), we will have a full length dance piece, and a film revolving around "IT". NO RUSH!!--think it's better not to!
Rehearsals will take place at Hunter College, Thomas Hunter bulding on the 6th floor on Mondays and Fridays 7-9pm (for now)--> days/times might be changed or tweaked within a democratic system;)))..
No pay is promised as of now, but those who have have worked with me know that as soon as we get money coming in from grants, performances etc, we split it,or dancers get more, or I give it all to dancers. But I have experienced that if you don't make work and show it u can't make money, so we generate everything together!!!

This new work will have influences from folk, baroque, balinese, post-modern, gaga, contact improv, contemporary, release technique,ballet...since I'm actively dancing/thinking/feeling/growing with/appreciating all these dance styles/languages...BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY--->>> will be influenced by YOU, since I value the input that each person provides to make all these languages stay alive and fresh ,and acquire meaning outside the rigid walls of formalities;)))))

First week of rehearsals:
Oct 3rd 7-9pm.
Oct 7th 7-9pm.

See u there!!! ;))))
