Founded in 2002, as a satellite of Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, Dance/NYC’s mission is to sustain and advance the professional dance field in New York City—serving as the voice, guide, and infrastructure architect for all local dance artists and managers within the creative economy. Dance/NYC seeks a Social Media Intern to:
Salary: Stipend of $100/week
Commitment: 16hrs/week, 6-8 weeks, starting ASAP
Schedule is flexible, provided regular deadlines are met
Reporting: The intern would report directly to Director, and work with Dance/NYC operations manager, media contractor, program intern, advisors and Junior Committee to create synergies in messaging.
Applicants should have a demonstrated track record of successful social media initiatives, with a preferred focus on industry-wide, service organization and/or dance projects. Preference will be given to candidates with sizeable “friends” and “followers.”

• Help evaluate Dance/NYC's current social media practices in relation to sister service organizations and the wider entertainment space;
• Grow reach of current platforms (Twitter and Facebook) and begin use of new platforms as appropriate;

• Produce and or curate content for social media platforms and e-communications;
• Administer social media practices during internship (6-8 weeks);
