Dance Party Engineers - June 21st at 7pm
The Dance Party Engineers is an open lab for experimentation in dance making and community development. The Dance Party Engineers investigate the intersection of academic, creative and social dance and dance making outside of a performance context. The Dance Party Engineers activities are two fold:
Lab Development - Participants meet in a rehearsal space to explore movement, improvisation, choreographic structures and generate methods for executing the Field Excursions.
Field Excursions - Each Lab Development session is followed immediately by a Field Excursion, where ideas are tested, dances are danced and fun is had.
The First Lab Session will be June 21st at 7pm and we will play with
+Freeze Dance as a social dance form
+Inclusion vs exclusion in non-performative dance
+Discarding the performer/audience dichotomy
