2012 Perceptions Dance Festival now accepting applications

The Perceptions Contemporary Dance Festival provides artists (emerging and established) working in the contemporary/modern dance field with the opportunity to be presented in the New York City area. The festival is designed to support choreographers and companies around the country and internationally, providing the necessary technical aspects of staging professional work with minimal costs incurred. This festival provides artists with a state-of-the-art theater, expert technical crew, promotion and exposure in the New York City area, while creating the opportunity for growth and development by allowing each artist to focus solely on their art. Each night the performance will be followed by a networking reception where artists can continue to build their networks with other artists, press and industry professionals.
The 2012 Festival will be held at Triskelion Arts Aldous Theater in Williamsburg on September 20th, 21st and 22nd at 8:00pm. Up to 30 artists will be presented throughout the festival. Artists will receive professional quality photos and video of their work in addition to technical time in the theater.
There is a $30 application fee to apply, and a $60 production fee for accepted work.

Artists should submit the $30 fee and applicationonline, and email a copy of the artist/company bio and resume to festival@perceptionsdance.org.
The deadline to receive applications is Friday August 24th.No exceptions or extensions. Artists will be notified by Monday August 27th of acceptance. Acceptance materials and production fee will be due August 31st -no extensions.

Entries must include the following:
- Video link of the proposed work (rehearsal footage allowed. Video must be of the proposed work only. No montage videos)
-Time Limit:Including set up and strike, group pieces must not exceed 10 minutes. Solos must not exceed 6 minutes.
- $30 non-refundable application fee payable via PayPal per piece submitted. (application will not be reviewed until payment has been sent)
- Current resume/bio for the choreographer or company emailed to festival@perceptionsdance.org
- Choreographers/companies may submit multiple entries for consideration. Each entry requires separate completed application forms, video link and application fees. Multiple entries will not be considered without all mandatory criteria for each entry.
