Deadline Extended! Call for Tap and Jazz Choreographers

 

Undertoe Dance Project (a tap and jazz fusion company) is currently accepting submissions from tap choreographers and jazz choreographers for inclusion in the Undertoe Dance Festival.

Performance dates: Nov 2, 2012 at 8 pm & Nov 3, 2012 at 3 pm

Performance venue: 92nd Street Y Buttenwieser Hall

The application deadline is September 12, 2012. Choreographers must be 18 or older, living in the New York City Tri-State area, and working with professional dancers at least 18 years old to apply. To submit your work for consideration:

1) Complete the 2012 Application Form (available on our website).

2) Video of the work you wish to present (on DVD or send a link to an online video site such as YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc).

3) A choreographer bio/resume and company bio/history (if applicable).

4) If mailing your application, a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) if you would like your materials returned.

Group pieces can be up to 15 minutes in length, solo pieces can be up to 6 minutes in length. Please only submit completed works for consideration as we are not currently presenting works-in-progress. Rehearsal footage is acceptable.

This particular venue is has a low-tech. Please submit a piece that maybe presented in a lights up/lights down atmosphere (there are no specials and only white lights) and to music that is in MP3 format. Live music is allowed; please contact us to discuss the scope as there is no amplification available for instruments.

There is currently no pay available for selected choreographers, but as payment for your artistry, you will receive video footage of your piece (wide angle) and a CD of images from our professional photographer.
