Shannon Gillen & Guests

Company Class is a rotating series of critically acclaimed, nationally and internationally renowned companies teaching repertory by current company members.

This series seeks to introduce dancers to the myriad styles and processes in today’s contemporary and post-modern landscape. It hopes to engage new generations of dancers in current practices, and build connections between dancers and the companies they aim to join. It also strives to be of service to companies, who are looking to broaden their pool of dancers, audiences, and collaborators.

Artistic Director of Shannon Gillen & Guests (SGG), Gillen received her BFA from The Juilliard School, where she was mentored by Martha Clarke and Pat Catterson. Upon graduating, Gillen studied Meisner acting at the Maggie Flanigan Studio. Her choreographic works have been presented at Alice Tully Hall, the Clark Studio Theater, Dance New Amsterdam, HERE Arts Center, with Movement Research at Judson Church, Springboard Danse Festival, the Ontological-Hysteric Theater, the Joyce SoHo season and as a finalist in The AWARD Show!
