NYC modern dance company, H.T. Chen & Dancers, is looking for male and female dancers with a high level of training and professional experience to participate in its upcoming workshop/audition. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, H.T. Chen & Dancers' work incorporates elements from the martial arts into contemporary dances that are both rigorous and detailed.
Work will include approximately 38 performances in NYC and a national tour of a new company piece in 2014-15. Must be available to rehearse weekday afternoons. 24 week contract for paid rehearsals, touring, and performances that begin in November.
In addition to company positions, apprenticeships are also available. Apprentices will be offered a stipend, free classes at Chen Dance Center and potential opportunities to perform with the company.
WORKSHOP/AUDITION dates: September 15- 19, 2014 – Monday-Friday, 10:00am to 2:00pm
