American Realness Internships

AMERICAN REALNESS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

American Realness is an annual festival of new dance and contemporary performance produced and curated by Ben Pryor / tbspMGMT at the Abrons Art Center. Now in its sixth year, American Realness occupies all three of the performance spaces, as well as gallery space, at Abrons Arts Center over 11 days of performances.  Artists from past festivals include Miguel Gutierrez, Big Art Group, Trajal Harrell, Faye Driscoll and John Jasperse.

The American Realness internship is designed for students and recent graduates looking to get hands-on production and administrative experience in a fast-paced festival setting. We are open to any availability between January 2, 2015 and January 19, 2015. Administrative internships can begin in December and extend into February. Internship credit is available.

All interns have the chance to participate in structured dialogues with industry professionals. Interns have regular check-in sessions with their supervisors and receive feedback throughout the festival. Interns are encouraged to see dress rehearsals and performances of all festival productions.

To apply, please contact Producing Assistant Brídín Clements at bridinclements@gmail.com with a resume and cover letter including information about your past experience, area of interest, and anticipated availability.
