The Martha Graham School is the oldest dance school in the United States and the only one primarily focused on the Martha Graham Technique and Repertory.  The School offers the Graham Technique as a powerful foundation augmented with classes in ballet, other techniques, body conditioning, performance workshops and a wide range of electives. We are currently seeking to expand ballet training for our full-time students.  Ballet classes are also open to non-full-time dancers at the appropriate levels.  The Martha Graham School is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance.

Schedule

Mondays & Thursdays
8:15-9:00am: Beginning Barre
9:10-10:40am: Intermediate Ballet

Tuesdays & Fridays
8:15-9:00am: Intermediate Barre
9:10-10:40am: Beginning Ballet

***Classes Begin in Early September***

Responsibilities
-Instruct classes in ballet technique, meeting expectations of the Martha Graham School
-Maintain a substitute teacher roster and arrange for a substitute as needed
-Communicate substitute schedule to supervisor
-Coordinate with Graham faculty to encourage curriculum alignment
-Conduct quarterly evaluations and communicate progress to students

Qualifications

Required
-Prior experience as a professional ballet teacher
-Experience with student evaluation and communicating progress

Preferred
-Familiarity with Graham technique and repertory
-Experience training modern dancers in ballet technique
