Battery Dance Teacher Training Program

Become certified to lead your own arts program at Battery Dance’s Dancing to Connect Institute June 13 - 25!

Our two-week workshop located at our headquarters in TriBeca educates dancers on our award-winning initiative, Dancing to Connect. This unique, creative workshop for young people has been implemented by Battery Dance teaching artists in over 40 countries and focuses on improvisational and creative activities that encourage students to create their own movement. The teaching artist leading the program then sculpts the students' movements into an original dance piece performed at the end of the workshop.

The Dancing to Connect Institute teaches our methodology, and also includes lectures on how to plan, implement, and market a sustainable arts program. During the first week of the program, Institute trainees will experience Dancing to Connect first-hand by creating original movement led by a Battery Dance teaching artist before co-teaching a Dancing to Connect program at a New York City public high school during the second week.

View our brochure for more details about the Dancing to Connect Institute, or check out our website: batterydance.org/institute.

Please email Bethany Mitchell at institute@batterydance.org with any questions about how to apply!
