Fall Internship with Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company

Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, a vibrant New York-based nonprofit performing and teaching company seeks a highly-motivated intern to assist the Company on a series of production-related events related to the twentieth anniversary of the Company.

The duration of the internship can vary. We have opportunities for an early fall period beginning October 1 and for a late fall period which continues through mid-winter.

Working with DGDC one gains an immersive introduction to the myriad tasks involved in running a dance company as well as the terrific camaraderie within the organization. Responsibilities for this position include assisting the Director in office and production-related tasks with an emphasis on marketing and social media. The position’s flexible schedule approximates 15-20 hours per week.

The Company has a history of summer interns from all over the country. Past and present interns have graduated from schools including Montclair State University, The University of Florida, The University of Michigan, Kenyon College, Skidmore College, Barnard College, Idaho State University and The University of Miami. Terrific friendships have always bloomed between our interns.

Qualifications

Someone who is organized, has a familiarity with and passion for dance, thinks creatively, is able to collaborate, has access to a computer, a proficiency with technology and social media, and is eager to learn and practice new skills!

Responsibilities include aiding in the creation of marketing content, exploring choreographic and teaching opportunities for the Company, and assisting us as we enhance our online and social media presence.
