#C3 CORE Choreography Competition: A commission to create new work for J CHEN PROJECT

CALL FOR ENTRIES: J CHEN PROJECT's CORE CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION #C3 

Submissions to J CHEN PROJECT's 2020 CORE Choreography Competition are now open. Deadline: April 13, 2020

J CHEN PROJECT (JCP) is excited to announce a call for entries for our 2020 CORE Choreography Competition (#C3), to identify one emerging to mid-career choreographer who will receive a commission to create a new work on JCP dancers. This work will be presented at a professional theater for our NYC Season. 

Finalists of #C3 will present a work of their choice at The Ailey Studios on Saturday, June 27, 2020. The winning choreographer receives a creative honorarium, 20 hours of rehearsal with the company during which they will have the opportunity to create and develop new choreographic material on JCP dancers. JCP's Artistic Director will help guide this residency. The new work will be premiered in the Fall 2020, date and venue to be finalized soon.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 13, 2020

JCP is a 501c3 non-profit modern dance company based in NYC, founded in 2008, exploring identity within the human experience through creation, performance, mentoring and inspiring young artists to share their voice.
 
SUBMISSION FEE: There is a $40 submission fee

COMPENSATION: Creative honorarium, 20 hours of rehearsal with the company, public presentation, and professionally filmed video and photos of the performed work.
