The Nimbus Dance Virtual Summer Intensive (NDVSI) is a month long Intensive directed by LeighAnn Curd, Director of the Nimbus Youth Ensemble and a Nimbus Company Dancer. The program is taught by Nimbus' incredible award-winning teaching staff and renowned master class teachers. The NDVSI is excellent for students who want to continue with inspiring dance training and are looking for a well-rounded and educational program from the comfort and safety of their very own homes.

The program curriculum includes weekly technique classes in ballet, modern, improvisation and Nimbus Dance Repertory. All students participating in the entire 4 week program will have the invaluable opportunity of creating their very own work, inspired by their ideas and movement, with a Nimbus Company Dancer. This final work will be presented in a live Zoom performance the last Friday of the Intensive. During the first week, students will work with guest speaker Victoria Santaguida, Nimbus Company Dancer and Director of Junior Youth Ensemble, focusing on social media and how to successfully promote themselves through dance. They will also create their very own professional dance reel to have for future auditions. Week two, the students will have a master class with Lisa Johnson-Willingham, formerly a dancer with Alvin Ailey and currently the Director of The Alvin Ailey Extension Program, and focusing on modern dance and contemporary movement. In the third week of the NDVSI, students will get the opportunity to speak with Anitra Keegan, former dancer with Ohio Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet Company and BalletX and currently the Company Manager and Rehearsal Director of Nimbus Dance, about her career in dance and the life of a professional dancer. The final week of the program will be focused on ballet, with a master class from Anitra Keegan. Students will learn to incorporate her unique contemporary movement style within classical ballet vocabulary. At the end of each week, videos will be given to each student highlighting each student’s dancing and technical achievements.

Throughout the 4 week program, students will also have the opportunity to discuss important topics for young dancers including: Audition Preparation, Health and Wellness and Creating and Editing Videos. Students will have the opportunity to physically and mentally challenge themselves over the course of this Intensive and learn from some of the best in the profession.
