African Dance Teachers - 2-3 days/week in the NYC Schools

Notes in Motion Outreach Dance Theatre is seeking experienced African Dance Teaching Artists for ongoing dance and movement in-school and after-school programs in the NYC Public Schools. These are paid teaching opportunities to inspire young people with dance in underserved communitities throughout the five boroughs of NYC. We are looking for Teaching Artists available 2-3 days/week during school hours 8am-2pm or for after-school programs 2-6 p.m.

Qualified candidates should have experience in a variety of African traditional dance forms plus experience in other dance styles including Latin dance, ballet, modern, jazz, tap, ballroom, hip hop, and/or creative dance training a PLUS. Candidates should have experience teaching in NYC public schools (or similar settings) elementary, middle, and/or high school populations.

LESSON PLAN should be a 45-50 minute session and indicate what age it is targeted for.
